Choose THURSO if…

You want Max’s full-length pad, plus an electric pump, roller backpack and cooler in one purchase.

Consider BOTE if…

You prefer Breeze’s lower published board weight or want the included PFD belt and bottle. BOTE’s Rac and MAGNEPOD accessories may also suit your plans.

START WITH YOUR PRIORITY

Who and what are you bringing?

Dog or family outings

Start with the 34″ Max and Breeze pair below. Deck layout, rider fit and how much you carry matter more than a headline capacity.

Fewer separate purchases

Max includes electric inflation, roller backpack and cooler. The named Breeze bundle includes a PFD belt and bottle instead.

Fishing and more equipment

Breeze has Rac receivers, but receivers are not the racks themselves. Review every attachment you want before paying for a system.

WHAT YOU GET FOR YOUR MONEY

A board is only part of the setup.

The THURSO Full Package puts electric inflation, a paddle, wheeled storage and a cooler in the same purchase. Here is what that means on an ordinary day out.

Rechargeable electric pump

Rechargeable electric pump

Skip hand pumping. Set up the pump while you organize your gear; monitor inflation.

Carbon-hybrid paddle

Carbon-hybrid paddle

Adjust the paddle to your height and break it into three pieces for packing.

Roller backpack

Roller backpack

Roll on suitable paths or carry it when the ground gets rough.

10-can deck cooler

Bring drinks and snacks without shopping for a separate cooler.

What you may still need with THURSO

A suitable PFD and anything needed for your location and conditions. Kayak or specialist fishing gear is not included in the standard Full Package.

What to budget for with BOTE

An electric pump, Travelink carry strap, Rac attachments and KULA cooler are separate purchases unless your selected bundle explicitly includes them.

Already own a compatible pump and paddle? Compare Board Only too. Included equipment has value when you use it; we do not add up accessory list prices to invent a savings figure.

PLAN THE WHOLE OUTING

More room is useful when you know what goes on it.

Taking a dog or a child

Max has a full-length traction pad. Breeze is the same listed width and length. Compare usable space around cargo and let the brand confirm a suitable load; neither maximum capacity establishes comfortable tandem use.

Cooler, tackle and accessories

Max includes a soft deck cooler. Breeze supports BOTE Rac and MAGNEPOD accessories; racks and a KULA cooler are separate. If fishing is central, compare HD or Rackham too before choosing the recreational Breeze.

Getting back to the car

Breeze’s published board weight is 22 lb; Max is 25.4 lb. Max includes a roller backpack, which helps on suitable paths. For sand and stairs, consider the complete carry rather than the board weight alone.

Choose Max for this routine

A roomy padded deck, drinks in the supplied cooler, electric inflation and wheeled transport. Add your suitable PFD and any specialist equipment.

Choose Breeze for this routine

A lighter board to carry, the included PFD belt and bottle, and access to BOTE’s optional accessory system. Check that the included PFD is suitable for the wearer and intended use.

Before buying attachments, list the cooler, rack, mounting parts, pump and carrying equipment you actually want. Compare their complete cost without valuing accessories you will leave at home.

CONSTRUCTION, IN PLAIN ENGLISH

Care about how it feels.
Know how to look after it.

A board that flexes under your load can feel less settled. Size, pressure and construction all contribute; a material name alone cannot tell you which one will suit you.

THURSO’s fused layers and welded rails describe how the board is put together. They are not a reason to leave it in a hot car or claim a guaranteed lifespan.

For either brand, dry the board before packing, follow its pressure guidance and keep it out of prolonged heat when stored. Check fin and pump compatibility before buying replacements.

THURSO SURF

Board warranty

Change-of-mind returns

Change-of-mind returns

Policies cover eligible purchases and manufacturing issues subject to exclusions. Warranty length is not a measured lifespan. Keep your receipt and confirm dealer-specific rules when buying through a retailer.

A couple of things worth asking.

Is the BOTE package missing basic equipment?

No. This Breeze package includes paddling equipment, a PFD belt and a bottle. Its hand pump and backpack are different from THURSO’s electric-pump and roller-bag setup. Decide which extras you would actually use.

Should I buy whichever board has the highest weight capacity?

Start with recommended rider weight and how you will use the board. Add your dog, passenger and equipment to the load. Published limits do not come from a shared test and do not tell the whole story about balance or comfort.

Which one is better value for me?

Price the equipment you still need, then decide which fit and features you would use. If you already own the extras, a lower-priced package or Board Only may be the more sensible purchase.
